February 2024, “The evolution of a fish”.
This mural was realized in Ostia (the sea of Rome) on the walls of a high school.
The story depicted is a possible evolutionary path of an imaginary fish. From the dawn of life to its final shapes on the right wall, the fish in the black shapes, develops in to mammals on the left wall. There the fish faces the human impact, inspired and disguised as two masterpieces as M.C. Esher’s puddle xylography and the Goldfishes by Matisse. From fishes, Evolution went in many different directions, some mammals even came back to the sea developing in to cetaceans. May be there is something to learn from it for our (human) next choices.
